Your purchase orders shouldn’t live in a text thread.

Write the order once, see where every one of them stands, and stop scrolling back through messages to find what you agreed to.

No credit card. No integration.

Built by the team behind Planster, which forecasts demand across DTC, Amazon, retail and wholesale for brands doing this at scale. See the full platform.

Three things a text thread can’t tell you.

You can run purchasing out of messages, and plenty of good brands do. It works right up until you need to answer one of these.

What did we actually agree to?

The quantity, the price and the date are in a message somewhere, and the version your supplier has may not be the one you remember.

Where is it right now?

A text has no status. You find out it is late when it does not show up.

What’s still open?

Nothing adds up the orders you have outstanding, so the answer is a scroll through three apps and a guess.

None of that is a discipline problem. It is what happens when the record of an order and the conversation about it are the same thing.

What you get, free.

Not a trial of the paid platform. A working order tool, with the pieces you need to write an order that means something later.

  • Purchase orders

Write an order against a supplier with the products, quantities and dates on it. Every one carries a status you can see at a glance.

  • Work orders

A production run you make yourself, rather than something you buy from a supplier. Same place, same statuses.

  • Suppliers and products

Set them up once and reuse them. You stop retyping the same SKU, the same price and the same address into every order.

  • Warehouses

Say which products live where, so an order lands somewhere specific instead of just landing.

  • Bills of materials

Optional. Say what a finished product is made of, so a production run knows what it consumes.

  • One view of everything open

A status bar across all your orders and the numbers above it, without building the summary yourself.

Transfer orders — moving stock between your own warehouses — are on Pro, not free.

Set it up in one sitting.

1

Answer the setup questions

Your company details, how you want POs numbered, your products, warehouses and suppliers. It walks you through on first login, saves as you go, and you can leave and come back.

2

Write your first order

Pick a supplier, pick products, set quantities and a date. It is the same form every time, which is the entire point of not doing this in messages.

3

Watch the board, not the thread

Every order carries a status. You move it along as things happen, and the board tells you what is still open without you rebuilding the summary each week.

What you don’t have to do first.

Most order software wants to be your system of record for everything before it will be useful for anything. Connect the store, import the history, map the SKUs, sit through the walkthrough.

This asks you to write one order.

Set up the suppliers you actually order from. Everything else can wait.

  • No integration to connect
  • No IT ticket
  • No credit card
  • No call to book first
  • No template to build
  • No order history to migrate first
  • No account for your supplier to create

About your supplier list and your costs.

Who you buy from and what you pay them both end up in here, and that is one of the more sensitive things a brand owns. It is a real reason to hesitate, so here is the answer before you ask.

It is never used to train anything.
Your data is used to run your orders, and for nothing else. It does not become training data, and it is not pooled with anyone else’s.
You can delete it whenever you want.
It is yours. Remove it and it is gone — you do not have to email anyone or wait on a support queue to make that happen.

What it can’t do.

Worth knowing before you spend twenty minutes finding out.

It doesn’t send the order for you.

This is where the order gets written and tracked. Getting it to your supplier is still your email, and the status moves when you say it moved.

It isn’t connected to anything.

No store, no warehouse system, no accounting. What is in here is what you put in here, which is also why there is nothing to set up.

It doesn’t tell you what to order.

There is no forecast and no reorder point in the free tool. It records the decision you made; it does not make it for you.

It’s only as good as what you type in.

Nothing checks a quantity or a date against reality. That is true of the text thread too, but it is worth saying plainly.

Built by the team that does this for a living.

Planster is demand-planning software for $10M–$50M consumable CPG brands — food, beverage, supplements, beauty, household. The paid platform connects to the systems you already run on, builds one forecast across every channel, and drafts the purchase orders that need writing. This free tool is a much smaller piece of that: the part where the order gets written down and tracked.

Why it’s free

Because the tools that do this well are priced for brands that already have a planning team.

That decides who gets to plan well, and it isn’t the growing brand running operations with three people and a spreadsheet. We think that is backwards. The brands that most need to get this right are the ones who can least afford the software that does it.

So the order tool is free, and it stays free. We would rather more brands got good at this.

Common questions

Is it actually free, or is it a trial?

Free, with no credit card and no clock running down. There is a limit on how many orders you can create in a month; when you reach it the app tells you, and you can either carry on next month or move to Pro at $30 a month. Nothing you have already created goes away.

Does it send the purchase order to my supplier?

No. This is where the order gets written down and tracked, not how it travels. You still send it to your supplier the way you do today, and you move the order along its statuses yourself as things happen. It is worth knowing that before you sign up rather than after.

What is the difference between a purchase order and a work order here?

A purchase order is something you buy from a supplier. A work order is a production run you make yourself. Both are in the free tier, both carry the same statuses, and both live in the same list. Transfer orders, for moving stock between your own warehouses, are on Pro.

Do I have to finish the setup before I can write an order?

No. There is a guided setup on your first login covering your company details, products, warehouses, suppliers and optionally bills of materials, and it saves as you go so you can leave and come back. You can also skip it entirely and add each of those at the point you need it.

Is my supplier and cost data used to train AI models?

No. Your data is used to run your orders and for nothing else. It does not become training data and it is not pooled with other customers. You can delete it yourself whenever you want, without emailing anyone or waiting on a support queue.

How is this different from the Planster platform?

They are separate products. This free tool records and tracks the orders you decide to place. The platform at $1,000 a month connects to the systems you already run on, builds one demand forecast across DTC, Amazon, retail and wholesale, and drafts the purchase orders that need writing each night — it decides what to order, rather than recording what you decided.

Do you have anything for analysing my inventory data?

Yes, and it is also free. The inventory chat tool takes a CSV or Excel export and answers questions about it — what is about to run out, what is overstocked, what is actually moving. It is a separate tool from this one and you can use either without the other.

Write your next purchase order somewhere you can find it.

It takes about as long as the text message did, and next month you will still know what you ordered.

No credit card. No integration.
